Services available: education about all aspects of Type 1 and Type 2 diabetes, including treatment with tablets and/or insulin teaching self blood glucose monitoring

For people with Type 2 diabetes, this is an informative, interactive group program with a diabetes educator and dietitian. The program focuses on self management principles and is tailored to meet participant identified needs.

Healthy food choices are important for everyone, especially people with diabetes where food is an integral part of treatment. At the Diabetes Centre specialist dietitians offer individualized assessment and meal plans up-to-date education on healthy nutrition shopping ideas , dining out , recipes. The dietitians will liaise directly with the doctor. |

This service was established in order to stabilize and restabilize people with diabetes on an outpatient basis. Patients from general practitioners who would benefit.
From this service are people with: newly diagnosed Type 1 diabetes Type 1 diabetes during periods of poor metabolic control newly diagnosed Type 2 diabetes with high initial blood glucose levels Type 2 diabetes in tablet failure requiring insulin
Gestational diabetes pre existing diabetes, wishing to become pregnant.

The lack of trained health professionals and programmes continues to be cited by many member health care organizations with regards to the delivery of high quality diabetes education and care.
The quality of Diabetes care in periphery and rural India in considerably poorer than in urban areas. In these regions, proper treatment and control of diabetes lies in the hands of family physician and general practitioner. In order to make Primary Diabetes care available to everyone in India, we have tailored courses which aid & assist family physicians in their Diabetology practice with the power of knowledge. Training and practical guidance, after Completion of course helps the Physician take control of diabetes among the community.
